Buildings research

History Faculty library staircase, Feb '07Do you live or work in a building in Oxford that you would like to know more about? Are you converting or extending a property and would benefit from information on its original purpose, design or features? Are you running a business from an interesting building and would like to be able to tell your customers about it and use it in your marketing? Or is there a building in the city which you pass frequently and wonder about its history?

If so, I can help you to carry out your own research, or can do research for you.

Please contact me on 01865 242760 or liz@lizwoolley.co.uk for further details and for fees.

“In 2018 Brasenose College acquired the buildings containing Lloyds Bank at Carfax and we commissioned Liz to research their history. She produced a fascinating illustrated guide to the buildings and to the area around Carfax, and an insight too into the development of banking in Oxford. Liz also presented her findings to us in an illustrated talk, which was very well received.” Philip Parker, Bursar, Brasenose College, December 2019. [Read the report here.]

“Liz’s research has helped us to understand our building better and hence to restore and update it more sympathetically. It has also made it an even more interesting property to work in and to tell our customers about.”
